Although they are still a very expensive component with high precision, the probability of failure has greatly decreased, and their lifespan is generally longer. There has not been a situation where many car turbochargers are damaged at a certain mileage. Like other components in the car, there are damages, but the number is not very large. Any component in the car may be damaged, but the turbocharger is relatively expensive and if damaged, it can easily attract the owner's attention. So if the car comes with a turbocharger, there's no need to worry about its lifespan. Many cars have been driven for hundreds of thousands of kilometers without any damage.

   In terms of maintenance, it is slightly different from naturally aspirated cars, as it has higher requirements for oil and air filter. The oil should not be too dirty, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner, and the oil should be used well. The air filter should also not be too dirty. Why is this? Because the speed of the turbine is too high, often reaching tens of thousands of revolutions per minute, the maximum engine speed cannot even reach 10000 revolutions per minute. By comparing it, one can imagine how high the speed of the turbine is. High engine speed requires good lubrication conditions. If the engine oil is too dirty, the quality of the engine oil is poor, and the lubrication is not good, it will definitely have an impact on its lifespan. The vast majority of car manufacturers use fully synthetic engine oil. If not, it is best to upgrade to fully synthetic engine oil, and maintenance time should not be delayed. Delaying the maintenance time of a naturally aspirated car may not have a significant impact, as delaying the maintenance of a car with a T may affect the lifespan of the turbocharger.

       The air filter used in it is different from that of self-priming vehicles, with better filtration effect and higher price. So, if you replace it yourself, you must also buy one with good quality. Because the filtered air passes through the turbocharger before entering the engine, if the air contains large impurities and particles, it can also affect its lifespan. Therefore, even if the air filter is dirty, it should be replaced in a timely manner. In terms of maintenance, only pay attention to the oil and air filter, and other aspects are the same as those of a naturally aspirated car.

  In terms of usage, there is actually no need to pay special attention to it, and it is basically the same as the use of a self suction car. One thing to pay attention to is that when driving at high speeds, it is best not to immediately turn off the engine after it revs up. Idle for one or two minutes before turning off the engine, in order to allow the turbocharger to cool down sufficiently. Although many maintenance manuals now state that idle waiting is no longer necessary because the cooling system technology is advanced. But the cooling pressure of the turbocharger at high speeds is still relatively high, idling for one or two minutes is definitely beneficial. The only thing we're talking about here is to idle and wait for a while at high RPM. It's common to drive on a highway into a service area, and you don't need to idle and wait normally.
